Saves the tooth, and stops the pain
Root Canal Treatment
When decay or an injury reaches the pulp inside a tooth, the nerve becomes infected. That is the pain that keeps people awake and does not settle on painkillers. A root canal removes the infected tissue, cleans and seals the canal, and lets you keep the tooth instead of losing it.
The reputation of the procedure is worse than the experience. It is done under local anaesthetic, and most people find the appointment itself no worse than a filling — the pain they remember is the infection beforehand, not the treatment. Depending on the tooth it takes one or two visits, and a crown is usually fitted afterwards to protect it.
If you have swelling, throbbing pain, or pain that wakes you at night, do not wait for it to pass. Call us.
